    boost smartphone performance

Mobile phones, similar to personal computers, tend to slow down after a period of time. Smartphones have become indispensable, and we can now perform every task imaginable on our handy devices. From watching movies, to finishing our project reports or assignments, smartphones have given us the ability to work on-the-go, or be entertained while traveling. However, by relying heavily on our mobile phones, their performance also starts to diminish after prolonged periods of usage.

As we download, install and use more applications, we begin to notice our Android phones slowing down. Mobile phones, similar to our laptops need proper maintenance, and once we notice the phone lagging or slowing down, it is important to take appropriate measures to boost its performance.

Here are a few simple steps you can take to speed up your smartphone.

    Update Your Phone

To ensure that your phone is running properly, it is important to update the Android phone to the latest firmware. Android updates are extremely useful, as the new releases ensure greater stability, better speed, performance and connectivity, along with a host of other user-friendly features. You can check for system updates, and install any new updates that may be available.

    Uninstall Unused or Unwanted Apps

As much as we rely on smartphones to get work done, we have also started relying on mobile apps to make our lives easier. Whether you want to listen to the latest Bollywood music scores, or stream your favourite movies, TV shows or games, mobile apps have become as important and convenient as owning a smartphone itself. However, apps require storage space, and once you install a new app, it also runs background processes. Thus, the more apps you download, the greater storage space they occupy, and the more background processes they run, resulting in your smartphone slowing down.

It is imperative that you uninstall any unused or unwanted app, as it frees up storage space. This in turn will boost your phone’s performance. However, if you are certain that you have to store large files in your phone, you can also opt to purchase a smartphone with greater storage space and RAM, such as an 8GB RAM mobile phone which comes with a considerably large storage capacity.

    Disable Apps that are Unnecessary

It is also possible that while you may not have used a specific app for a certain period of time, it is still important, and you wouldn’t want to uninstall it. In that case, you can disable the app, and enable it at a later time when you need it. While uninstalling an app removes the application’s files from the smartphone, you can keep the files by disabling the application.

If your apps aren’t getting automatically updated, you should also check for updates, and keep updating your apps, as newer versions usually come with bug fixes and new features, and also run faster.

    Avoid Using Live Wallpapers

We usually opt for live wallpapers on our Android phones, as they are easy on the eyes. However, live wallpapers usually need more CPU cycles to operate, and can drain your phone’s battery faster. It is thus advised that you keep a static wallpaper, instead of an animated or interactive background.

    Use High-Speed Memory Cards

Most of us prefer storing movies, music and high-resolution images on our smartphone, which can take up considerable storage space. While purchasing a smartphone like the Redmi K20, which comes with an internal storage capacity of 128GB and is widely considered to be the best phone under 25000  can provide you with adequate internal storage space, you can use high-speed memory cards to free up more internal memory. High-speed memory cards of Class 6 and Class 10 also speed up your phone’s performance, while adding to its storage capacity.

    Stop Syncing

While the ‘Sync’ feature is important, as it synchronizes our data with Google servers and notifies us when we receive new emails and notifications for app updates, it also slows down our Android phones. Thus, you can keep the ‘Sync’ off for services that are not required, and only use it to transfer or upload files, which would speed up your smartphone.
