They can be used to support both ends of a Sumo shelf, or they can be fitted in pairs to create long runs of shelving. These shelf brackets are suitable for use with all SUMO and Sumo 25mm thick wooden shelf boards, as well as many other brands of shelving. They are reversible and can be used in two different positions, and they have an epoxy finish that’s resistant to rust.
Easy to Assemble
We offer a full bespoke design service to ensure your shelves are perfectly fitted to your wall. You can choose from a selection of corners and edging styles to suit your taste, as well as choosing the height you require. We also offer a choice of protective finishes.
Before staining, we recommend using a medium grit sandpaper to smooth out any cut marks and any wood filler residue. If desired, you can also apply a wood conditioner at this point, which will help your shelf absorb the stain evenly.
To assemble your shelf, start by cutting the 1×2 pieces to length. Next, drill pilot holes through the longer piece into each of the shorter pieces. Use wood glue to hold the layers together. To hang your shelf, first mark the location with a spirit level, then screw the cleat into the wall, using drywall anchors for extra strength if necessary. Finally, slide the shelf box over the cleat and secure with another screw or nail.
