Christian weddings are fun and frolic and one of the most beautiful highlights of these pious weddings is that moment when a gorgeous bride wearing an all-white wedding gown on her big day walks down the aisle carrying a gorgeous flower bouquet. But before the bride walks in, little girls carrying some beautiful flower baskets and some other bridesmaids and groomsmen enter the venue. And those floral baskets just look as charming as every detail of that special day of the bride and groom’s life. So today we are going to take you through step by step as to how you can make a flower basket for someone dear’s wedding.
Materials Required
- Any kind of basket, preferably a white coloured
- Scissors
- Thin wire or strong string
- Satin ribbons
- And some mixed flowers. We would suggest you go with a mix of pink yarrow, chrysanthemums, lisianthus and veronica.
Let’s Start DIY-ing It!
- Start by making small floral bouquets
To ensure that the end product which is the floral basket looks good, make sure to ace the first and the foremost step of making bouquets. Once you have got your choice of mixed flowers, set them together and make sure they look colour coordinated tied together. Check which angles in which you need to place these flowers and next to which ones so that they look good together. Squeeze them all together and tie them up with a rubber band, piece of wire or a thin string to hold the stem of the flowers together and tight. Cut the stems if they seem to be unequal in length. A trim of stem would give it a perfect appeal and is sure to grab everyone’s eye.
-
Wire It Up Around The Basket
Now once the tiny floral bouquets are ready, we need to take a thin string of wire that could pass in between the fibre of the baskets to hold everything together nicely in place. Insert the wire from the inside of the basket and leave the other end open piercing through the wall of the basket. We would suggest you carry out this step near the handle of the basket as it is going to offer proper strength and support.
-
Add the Bouquet To The Basket
This is the step that would make everything come together and beautify it. Now tie the tiny flower bouquet that you made in step 1 with the help of the wire or thin string. Tie a couple of knots to ensure everything is in place and well secured. Ensure that it is strong enough to hold everything uptight. Once you have tied the flower bouquet to the basket, shake the basket a little to check you have tightly secured the basket. But in the process of doing that, make sure you don’t end up damaging the flowers.
-
Repeat The Same Step
Now that you got the hang of it, don’t stop it right here! Add a few more such tiny floral bouquets to your basket to make it aesthetically appealing. You can make some more identical floral bouquets or can even give them an edgy asymmetrical look by tying all the veronica on one side. But you can simply change the ideal flower arrangement of the bouquet and give your creativity wings to explore more such arrangements.

Fill The Basket With Some Petals
You can never underestimate the charm of petals kept inside a wedding basket. So gather some white rose petals which represent spirituality as one kick starts their new phase of life. It totally suits the entire theme of the wedding, which makes it even more appealing. If not white rose petals, you can go crazy petal picking of any other suitable flower to decorate the flower basket, your own way for someone’s big day.
